upgrading old youtube rips
Had 45 hours of synthwave I’d ripped from YouTube over the years. Low or mid static bitrate and more importantly, no album art, with of course bogus filenames like Timecop1983 - Night Drive [HQ].mp3.

Wrote a script to fix it. For each track: search YouTube by title, find the original, pull the best available stream (opus/320k), grab the thumbnail as album art, embed it. One night of work. Same songs, proper quality, artwork embedded.
Then wired it up to sync playlists to my server. Add a song locally, m3u8 regenerates, syncs upstream. No manual playlist maintenance anymore.
